My collection on the Life and Career of Elizabeth Taylor documents a fascinating life and personality. Sadly, on March 23, 2011 Elizabeth Taylor passed away. On that day I was besieged by the media in Canada and a TV station in New York. Thus I gave interviews on CBC TV and radio, CTV CKY TV NEWS, GLOBAL TV NEWS, CITY TV Breakfast TV, Karen Black's CJOB Radio Talk Show, plus press interviews in The Winnipeg Free Press, The Winnipeg Sun and an editorial piece in the Winnipeg Real Estate News, a comment letter in REM Magazine - in respect to a cover story they did on my collection in 2005.
The Jewish Post and News was kind enough to reprint an article I was interviewed for years ago and put it in their comments on Dame Taylor's passing.
This is testament to the importance the media felt about my collection.
After a whirlwind day of media activity I sat down with my thoughts and said this about Elizabeth Taylor.
Elizabeth was a rare and treasured gift to the world. Her incredible beauty, unique and brilliant talent as an actress from 1941-2001 is part of her legacy. More important was her devotion, care, concern and compassion for humanity, most notably her work in the area of AIDS research to find a cure.
The world has truly lost a special light in the dimness of reality. My condolences go out to her family.
I will miss you dear Elizabeth. Sincerely, Hannon Bell
